As we sit here the day after Christmas, we here at the Princestachat are elated to see all the entries we've had this year for our giveaway. This year is a big one for us, and I personally am so happy we've made it! I personally had no idea what this fan club and site would be when I put it together.
I've been around long enough to see the Org in its height and all the other small Prince related forums around the web. It wasn't until I personally got connected with a couple new Prince friends that I realized the need for a safe, productive, and engaging place for fans around the world to enjoy Prince together. After his transition, the places I used to go for solace became so ugly and negative. No one seemed to have anything nice to say. And this wasn't the only issue.
Users were policed on what they could and could not say. I personally believe that is no way to run a site, but more importantly that does not reflect how I saw Prince at all. Prince is daring, a risk taker if you will, never afraid to speak his mind. The ability to speak freely is such a precious gift, and we here on the Princestachat want to promote that. We tried to create a space that gave users the ability to speak freely without repercussion. All we ask for in return is that you think wisely and be kind to one another. And just as I hoped, you all delivered.
Thank you all for making this year one of the best I've ever had. I hope that we can continue to keep Prince's memory alive together by promoting what he believed in most.
